Temple Farm Cafe is a straightforward, no-frills cafe tucked into Craftsmans Square in Southend-on-Sea, offering a dependable spot for locals to grab a casual meal or a proper cup of coffee. The atmosphere leans toward relaxed and unpretentious, making it a comfortable place to unwind after a busy morning or to meet up with friends during a weekend.

The cafe’s menu is modest but covers classic homemade favourites like lasagne, cottage pie, and chilli, alongside a selection of burgers and paninis. These options, priced affordably, make it a practical choice for anyone looking for a filling lunch that won’t break the bank. Breakfast offerings, including solid English breakfast plates, are served with friendly attention and seem well-suited for families or anyone wanting a traditional start to the day.

Service is noted for being warm and accommodating, especially to families with children, which adds to the welcoming, everyday local feel. The staff atmosphere helps foster a sense of community, where regulars drop in for their customary weekend breakfasts or midday catch-ups.

Coffee and tea options are straightforward, with classics like cappuccino, latte, and herbal teas available, supporting both quick caffeine fixes and more relaxed sitting sessions. Though there’s no mention of outdoor seating, the café’s setting within a smaller square provides a quiet, sheltered spot out of the busier streets, probably best enjoyed on calmer weekday mornings or leisurely Saturday brunches.

This cafe suits those who appreciate a no-nonsense approach: quality homemade food, affordable prices, and a relaxed environment where the vibe is more about familiarity than formality. Visitors seeking a cozy place to enjoy a hearty meal or a simple coffee will likely find Temple Farm Cafe to be a consistent choice in the heart of Southend’s local dining scene.

Lovely little cafe, a great find on a cold day. I had a bacon sandwich washed down with a herbal tea. Very good prices, friendly ladies. I will definitely go back

Visited for lunch. Lovely gem of a place under new management. Service and food both great. Will definitely be going again and highly recommend.

From the time when that young lady took care of making food everything looks and taste awesome. You can clearly see that she care about the customers. The only thing that could be better is coffea. Not sure what makes it taste this bad probably that cheap coffee machine.
